摘要
列奥·施特劳斯的自由教育思想以其古典政治哲学为背景,立足于对现代性危机和古典政治哲学危机的双重批判之上。其自由教育思想具有保守主义、精英主义和西方文化中心主义的明显色彩,但其对自由教育之真谛的阐发和对如何开展自由教育的探索仍对我国高校自由教育有着重要的启示意义:首先,大学应有其坚持一贯、不同流俗的办学理念;其次,通识教育应有崇高的目的和系统的教学计划;再次,施特劳斯以阅读经典原著为主的自由教育方式对改进我国高校通识教育的教学有重大启发作用。
Taking classical political philosophy as a background, Leo Strauss's thoughts on liberal education are based on his criticism of the crisis of the modernism and classical political philosophy. Although the thoughts are characterized by conservatism, elitism and western cultural centralism, they reveal the true meaning of liberal education and explore how to conduct liberal education in higher education, which may shed light on China's general education development.
