Communicative approach and traditional teaching methods are both in the unity of opposites.In intensive reading teaching the combined use of communicative approach with traditional teaching methods is feasible.There are many dismerits in intensive reading teaching. It is necessary to combine the communicative approach and traditional teaching methods so as to improve intensive reading teaching and gain a more effective reading.
