本超星系团中场星系旋转矢量分布的统计检验

Statistical Tests on the Spatial Orientation of the Field Galaxies in the Local Supercluster

运用 χ2 统计检验法和 Kolmogorov- Smirnov统计检验法对本超星系团中场星系的旋转矢量分布进行了细致的统计研究 ,发现这些场星系的旋转矢量分布呈现显著的非各向同性特征 ,而且与场星系的形态密切相关 .这预示着不同形态的星系可能有不同的大尺度起源 .统计样本是从北天亮星系测光星表中严格筛选出来的 2 2 0颗孤立的场星系 .重点介绍了这两种统计检验方法在星系旋转矢量分布研究中的应用 ,并对该研究领域中广为采用的 χ2 统计检验法的局限性进行了讨论 .

A detailed statistical research on the spatial orientation of the field galaxies in the Local Supercluster using the χ 2 test and Kolmogorov Smirnov test methods is presented.The sample of 220 field galaxies is strictly selected from the Photometric Atlas of Northern Bright Galaxies.The spatial orientation of these field galaxies is found to be significantly anisotropic,and it is dependent upon galactic morphology.The implication is that the galaxies with different morphologies might have different large scale origins.Emphasis is placed on introducing the application of these two statistical tests on the research of spatial orientation of galaxies.The discussion on the limitation of the application of χ 2 test upon this subject is also given.
