SMS alarm is supplement and improvement of telephone alarm provided by the public security department. This way of alarm will provide convenience for deaf people, as well as people who need alarm in a noisy environment or other exceptional circumstances. However, since January 11, 2009, when＂ 12110＂ was issued as national SMS alarm numbers by the Ministry of Public Security, SMS alarm system has not yet been made full use of by the public security departments as well as the public. This essay elaborates the ad- vantages of the SMS alarm system through cases, further analyses the application of SMS alarm system under current conditions, which aims to put forward practical methods from reality so as to improve SMS alarm sys- tem, making SMS alarm system plays its real role.
