With the method of interview, this paper studies the young lesbians' self - identity and communication about their sexual orientation identity. The study finds that most of the self - identity of the homosexual and bisexual evolve from their personal experience, and it has less to do with identity communication or community connection. Nevertheless, a positive commu- nication about their identity indeed helps to release depression and shame brought by homosexual identity. What's more, LGBT or- ganization helps to create LGBT community and more interaction and engagement among LGBT group, which increases their awareness to voice out and ask for more LGBT rights. At the end of this paper, it will analyze the finding and discuss the cultural meaning of this study as well as its restriction. At last, it will give out the recommendation for further study.
