现代西方经验主义发展到20世纪后半叶,从总体上发生了一次语言学转向,它试图将语言学的研究限制在对语义进行纯粹的逻辑分析上,并通过分析语言的逻辑形式来达到清除形而上学的目的。然而我们要看到,为了保持语言的这种纯洁性,它人为地缩小了语言的范围,从逻辑形式上限制了人类语言的内在活力,这使现代经验主义通过对形而上学的步步退让和主动接纳而逐步实现了与人本主义思潮的大致合流。分析现代经验主义的语言学转向及其对形上语义的解构,对于我们合理运用经验主义语义分析法、推动当代中国认知语言学的深入发展,无疑极具理论意义。
