Derivation of Exponential Evanescent Field Beyond the Turning Pointof Planar Optical Waveguides

证明了渐变折射率光波导转折点外的模场呈简单的指数衰减形式 。

In the region beyond the turning point atthe substrate side of graded- index planar optical waveguides,it is shown that the field solution is a rigorous exponential evanescent function. The attenuated coefficient can be characterized by an equivalent refractive index.
