Opposite "Stacked House"

文章介绍了如恩设计研究室近期在新加坡完成的一个私人住宅。该项目设计以"寻根"为出发点,通过对围合式院落建筑一系列空间层次的划分,不但使院落体现了中国传统,满足了一家三代四个家庭同居同乐的需求,更通过对围合式空间的重组,用错位开放、虚实叠加的手法,重新解读了传统与现代的空间关系和建筑形式,以及由此产生的建造方式、工艺材质和美学理念。

This article reflects upon a new house designed by Neri ＆ Hu Design and Research Office. The house explores the relationship between the traditional Chinese courtyard living space and nontraditional, open spatial arrangements for a large family composed of the parents,three children and their families - ＂three generations living under one roof＇ in the very modern world of Singapore. The architects started with tradition but then looked beyond. They have created an overlapping,interlocking ＂stacked house＂ that has not only achieved superior quality and spatiality, but also challenged the conventional thinking on aesthetics and tradition
