Trade Facilitation: We'll Do More

将贸易便利化付诸实践是世界海关组织的重要行动之一。在当前的经济和金融形势下,重视和加强贸易便利化是非常合乎时宜的,因为这给参与者提供了共同探寻进一步促进和提高贸易便利化途径的机会,而贸易便利化也被认为是保证经济繁荣和社会发展的全球关键性措施之一。国际贸易是中国经济极其重要的组成部分,这可以由中国通过贸易便利化措施促进经济快速增长所获得的显著成就来见证。

Kunio Mikuriya , Secretary General of the World Customs Organization (WCO), has emphasized the role of trade facilitation in stimulating the global economy recovery. This argument was made in his address for the 2012 China International Trade Facilitation Forum. The meeting, as the Secretary General mentioned, is 'opportune in the current economic and financial climate as it provides participants with the opportunity to seek ways and means to further promote and enhance trade facilitation'. Mr. Kunio Mikuriya indicated that it is important to revitalize the trade facilitation debate and together design new solutions as the global economy continues to stagnate and trade protectionism began to rise. The WCO has launched many measures to improve the trade environment, such as the Coordinated Border Management (CBM), and the Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRA) of AEOs. He considered China had achieved remarkable success in developing foreign trade and national economy, and part of this success can be attributed to China Customs' 'continued commitment to modernization and reform and to its ability to adapt itself well to the complicated and changing import and export environment'.
