Cultural Consciousness and Concept Change

文化自觉、文化自信、文化自强这三个关键词,以浓缩的形式表达了当代中国文化建设、发展、繁荣所面临的主要问题和欲达目的。在三者关系中,文化自觉是前提,它既有逻辑上的优先性,又是文化建设实践的主要着力点。文化自觉的真义在于"自知","自知"的主要障碍往往源于某些观念。在这个意义上,当代中国的文化自觉,需要在"传统与现代"、"民族与世界"、"文化与经济"、"中国文化与西方文化"四种关系上实现观念转变。这些观念的转变,既是文化自觉本身的要求和表现,又是社会主义文化强国应有的胸怀与境界。

Cultural consciousness,cultural pride,and cultural self-improvement,in a condensed form indicate the main problem and purpose of the culture construction,development and prosperity in contemporary China.Cultural consciousness is a prerequisite,with both a logical priority and main points of cultural construction.The true meaning of cultural self-consciousness is＂self-knowing＂,and the obstacle to＂self-knowing＂often stems from concepts.In this sense,the contemporary cultural consciousness of China requires a conceptual shift in the relations between＂tradition and modernity＂,between＂the nation and the world＂,between＂culture and economy＂,and between＂Chinese culture and Western culture＂.The transformation of such concepts,is the requirements and manifestations of both cultural consciousness itself and a Socialist cultural power.
