Rig leg rack of jack-up drilling unit has character of big thickness, high strength, high Carbon equivalent （Ceq） and rigorous requirement in dimensional precision. How to ensure welding quality is one of the most important and difficult points for fabrication of jack-up drilling unit. This paper introduces the welding procedure of rig leg rack for a 200 Ft jack-up drilling unit, and especially illuminates the key points for the fabrication of rig leg rack and investigates the measures to control welding distortion.
