陈训慈是我国著名的历史学家,在20世纪30年代担任浙江图书馆馆长期间,他在古籍保护与藏书建设、图书分编与书目编印、体现人文关怀的读者服务、图书馆研究辅导与学术活动等方面的理论与实践,促进了图书馆事业的发展。

Chen Xunci is a famous histor/an in China. As the director of Zhejiang Library during 30s in the last century, with his own knowledge and ability, Chen Xunci promotes the development of library career. This article focuses on Chen Xunci＇s theory and practice in the protection of ancient books, library collection development, book cataloguing and bibliography publishing, humanistic reader services, library research guidance and academic activities, and so on.
