This article describes the method of potential failure modes and effects analysis（FMEA） and its basic application in automotive welding fixture design.By using DFMEA analysis method,the reliability of original car trunk welding fixture design can be evaluated.Based on the results of the evaluation,the improvement measures can be proposed and implemented,so that the quality of welding fixture design can be improved,the development cycle and the design costs can also be shortened or reduced.
