The paper focuses on the design and development method of Chinese Fishery Statistic System. Based on Chinese statistics characteristics, the system is well suited to manipulation of various data for fishery sectors at all levels including the Ministry, provinces, prefectures and counties as it gathers many functions such as data collection, data processing, information retrieval, data analysis and yearbook compiling. Further more, it is very flexible for user application and can be run at most types of microcomputers so the system is now accepted by many users in china.
