The eastern and western cuhural influences on maritime arbitration are considerable. Based on the recent develop- ment of maritime arbitration in Asia, the paper analyses the main effect of cultural influences in arbitration on issues of law and issues of fact, points out the problems of evidence. Through the examples of cultural differences, the paper presents the parties＇ attempts to deal with cultural influences.
