学术外语能力层级模型的理论与实践探讨 被引量:36

Theoretical and practical exploration into a hierarchical model of academic foreign language competence

摘要 在教育国际化背景下,从通用英语向学术英语转型是大学英语教学的趋势之一。本文提出学术外语能力层级模型,认为以学术能力培养为目标的大学英语教学应重点解决以下3方面问题:语言基本功、学术体裁能力和利用外语进行思辨的能力。文章进而以"学术论文阅读与陈述"课程为例,阐述了学术外语能力层级模型在大学生学术外语能力培养中的作用,并讨论了该课程的教学问题及其解决途径。 Against the background of the internationalization of higher education, it is one of the tendencies for college English teaching to shift from general English to academic English. This paper proposes a hierarchical model of academic foreign language competence, and suggests that academic English teaching should target at three sets of skills and abilities: basic English skills, academic genre competence and critical thinking skills in foreign languages. Taking the course "Academic Reading and Presentation" as an example, the paper further illustrates how this model functions in the cultivation of college students' academic foreign language competence, and discusses the problems involved in teaching the course and their possible solutions.
