音乐能力影响中国大学生英语语音能力的实证研究 被引量:26

An empirical study on the effects of musical aptitude on English phonological skills of Chinese university students

摘要 本研究首次以中国大学生为受试,系统考察音乐能力对英语语音能力的影响,并剖析音乐能力的成因。研究发现:(1)音乐能力强弱不同的学生在英语语音能力上存在显著差异;(2)音乐能力会影响接受性英语超音段能力、产出性英语超音段能力和产出性英语音段能力,影响主要体现在语音的超音段和产出层面;(3)音乐经历在一定程度上会影响音乐能力的发展。研究最后指出音乐能力不仅是影响英语语音能力的非语言变量,而且还可能是影响二语语音习得的个体差异因素。 This study takes Chinese university students as the subjects for the first time to examine the effects of their musical aptitude on English phonological skills, and analyze the contributory factors in the formation of musical aptitude. The study findings are as follows : ( 1 ) there are significant differences in English phonological skills between students of high musical aptitude and those of low musical aptitude; (2) musical aptitude exerts effects on the skills of perceiving English suprasegmentals, producing English suprasegmentals and producing English segmentals, mainly on the suprasegmental and productive levels ; ( 3 ) musical experiences have some impacts on the development of musical aptitude. The study concludes that musical aptitude is not only an extra-linguistic variable but also a possible individual differences factor affecting L2 phonological acquisition.
