生物语言学研究语言的生物学机制,成为语言研究的另一种范式。目前分子遗传学手段被广泛运用于研究语言生物学机制的微观层次,鉴定了与语言功能相关的基因,且从基因中找寻到人类语言起源和进化的相关理据。然而语言与基因的联系非常间接,脑功能各层次的系统研究以及多学科合作才能最终揭开语言与基因关系之谜。

Biolinguistics explores the biological foundations of language, which has become another paradigm of language research. Currently molecular genetic technology is widely applied to the study of microscopic level of biological foundations of language. Language-associated genes have been identified and genetic evidences have been found for the origin and evolution of human language. However the relationship between language and gene is very indirect and the ultimate way to uncover the miracle is the systematic study of the brain and the multidisciplinary cooperation.
