Open classes are a platform for the teachers to demonstrate their educational abilities and also a great chance to learn from one another. The author reflects on an effective lesson chosen through public appraisal, its strengths and weaknesses, and puts forwards suggestions for improvement so as to implement the concepts of the cur- riculum reform and to provide reference for teachers of ideological and political lessons.
