中国海洋艺术有着颇具特点的内容与形式构成,并经历了漫长的发展历程。它的起源与涉海活动紧密相关,经历了从非艺术向艺术的生成过程。海洋艺术作品存世较少,除了难以长期保留的原因外,也与我们的农耕文化审美心理及海洋意识较弱等有关。汉以后,中国海洋艺术作品获得长足发展,作品存世相对较多。随着我国当代海洋活动的拓展,中国海洋艺术发展的春天到来了。中国海洋艺术具有传神表意性、虚实相生性、和谐统一性和形式多样性等审美特色。

China＇s marine art exhibits distinctive characteristics in both content and form in the long course of development. Its origin is closely connected with activities on the sea and the art itself has been through from inartistic stage to artistic stage. The reason why there are not many marine works of art existing in current society is partly because it is hard to preserve marine art works for a long time. And at the same time, it is associated with aesthetic psychology of China＇s farming culture and weak ocean consciousness. China＇s marine art has achieved considerable development after Han dynasty and a lot of marine works of art have been spread. With the expanding of China＇s marine activities, the spring of the development of China＇s marine works of art finally come. China＇s marine art is characterized by aesthetic features like ideography, false and true complement, harmony and diversification of forms, etc.
