In the context of multidisciplinary intersection and integration, this article reveals the main elements of competence required by subject li- brarian, and enriches the research methods of the competence elements of subject librarian, thereby breaks away from the role of traditional librarian, and bears certain reference value for the selecting and evaluating of subject librarian.
