旅游业的高速增长使得其与国民福利的关系成为部分学者研究的主要领域。回顾和总结旅游业与国民福利关系的相关研究成果,找出实证和理论研究的主要视角和推进方法,并探讨下一步研究可能的空白点以及需要继续深入的研究问题是本文主要目标。理论研究上,旅游业与国民福利的关系在不同的经济体结论不尽相同,税收、市场扭曲、外来资本、偏好以及其他因素都会影响旅游业扩张是否会提升国民福利。实证研究方面应对上述因素对福利的影响做出确凿的回答。

Tourism has become one of the most important industries of the world during the last few decades, with growing annual rates of 4% according to the world tourism organization. That is the main reason why the relationship between that growth and the national welfare has been the field of research of several authors. Then, our objective is to review the literature about inbound tourism and national welfare, in order to find out how the empirical and conceptual works have been conducted and which the gaps are or the research areas that should be deepen. The relationship between tourism and national welfare depends on many factors and it can be different in each economy. Taxation, market distortions, foreign ownership of the factors, monopoly are among the situations. Further research should be made in order to have conclusive answers for the effects of tourism each of the cases mentioned above.
