摘要
该文主要对2012年西南交通大学出版社出版的由王扬教授、刘清玉副教授主编的《英语语言学基础教程》一书的主要内容和特色作了评介。该教材主要是针对一般本科院校和西部地区高校本科学生编制的。此教程在注重向学生传授英语语言学的基本系统理论知识的同时，还与时俱进，适当地介绍了过去五十年来语言学几个主要领域中所取得的最新研究成果。
the article introduces and reviews the text book Basic Course Book in English Linguistics co-edited chiefly by professor Wang Yang and assistant professor Liu Qingyu. It is published by Southwest Jiaotong University Press in 2012. The book aims to meet the urgent need of the basic course in linguistics mainly given to English majors in colleges located in west of China. The book makes a general and systematic introduction of linguistic theories together with the latest researches in lingusitics.
