Survey on oral health knowledge and oral health behavior among Beijing primary school students

目的了解北京市小学生口腔健康知识掌握情况、相关健康行为及获取口腔健康知识的途径,为制定相关干预措施提供依据。方法整群抽取北京市33所小学二～六年级学生18 007名,采用自编问卷进行调查。结果学生7个口腔健康知识问题回答正确率为40.8%～93.3%,刷牙率(刷牙≥1次/d)为96.5%,每日早、晚均刷牙者占调查人数的83.4%。小学生获取口腔健康知识的途径主要来自媒体、教师和父母。结论小学生对口腔健康知识的了解欠佳。应进一步加强口腔健康知识的宣传教育,教师、家长应加强联系与配合,培养学生养成良好的口腔卫生习惯。

Objective To have a better understanding about the students＂ oral health knowledge and the related health be- haviors in primary schools in Beijing, as well as the channels from which they acquired these knowledge, and to provide reference for establishing related intervention measures. Methods A cluster sample of 18 007 students of grade two to grade six were chosen from 33 primary schools in Beijing, questionnaire survey was given to the students. Results The correct answer rate of the seven questions on oral health knowledge was 40.8%-93.2%. The teeth brushing rate （brushing teeth once or more than once a day } was 96.5%. About 83.4% of the students brushed their teeth every morning and evening. The main channels for the students to ob- tain the oral health knowledge were media, teachers and parents. Conclusion The oral health knowledge that the primary students in Beijing have grasped right now has some distance from the expectation, especially in some comprehensive knowledge. The con- tact and cooperation between the teachers and the parents need to be strengthened so that the students can be trained with the good oral health habits.
