未来５０年的中国将处在复杂多变的国际环境之中，会遇到新技术革命的机遇和挑战，将面对着经济全球化的趋势和世界社会主义的低潮。以江泽民为核心的党中央制定了未来５０年的治国总纲和各个领域的治国方略，并提出了未来５０年的发展目标，而要实现这一目标，在很大程度上取决于改革开放的成功。
