Pondering over the Classical Literature Study during the 20^(th) Century ──A Brief Account on the Academic Thinking of Fu Xuan-cong

傅璇琮先生作为当代学者的杰出代表和中国古代文学研究领域的学科带头人，在数十年的学术研究中形成了具有时代特色与学术个性的思想体系，其来源，一是以丹纳《艺术哲学》和勃兰兑斯《十九世纪文学主流》为代表的西方文学理论与文学史观；二是中国传统治学方法，尤其是以王国维、闻一多、陈寅恪为代表的前辈学术大师的启示。其学术思想体系一是以历史文化的综合研究为主体的方法论，二是关于古典文学研究总体设想的学科论，三是关于研究者自身素养及治学态度的主体论。

During years of hard work,Fu Xuan cong has created an i deologi cal system with the features of the times and his academic personality, which gi ves him the fame of the outstanding representative of the contemporary experts a n d the academic leader of Chinese Classical Literature study.Such unique thinking originated from the western literary theory and historic view represented by Philosophy de Art and Main Trend of Literature in the 19th Cen tury.In addition, it was influenced greatly by Chinese traditional researchi ng methods, especially enlightened by the ideas of the senior academic masters s uch as Wang Guo-wei, Wen Yi-duo,and Chen Yin-luo.His academic thinking system co ncerns with three categories:The Methodology advocating comprehensive study of historic cultures, considerations on the classical literature study as a general subject, and the ideas about the accomplishment and attitudes of researchers.
