普通本科院校专门用途英语(ESP)教学的实证研究

An Empirical Study on ESP Teaching in General Tertiary Colleges

在分析了大学专门用途英语(ESP)教学的必要性和可行性的基础上,采用抽样调查方法对河南理工大学482名本科生进行问卷调查,研究普通本科院校ESP教学现状和ESP教学需求。经统计分析结果显示:多数专业并未开设ESP教学课程;现有的ESP教学课程开设没有完全满足学生的需求;学校在ESP教学课程设计时,需要基于学生对英语的需求,加强ESP教材建设,注重师资力量的提升。

Based on the analysis of the necessity and feasibility of ESP（English for Specific Purposes）teaching in tertiary colleges,by using the method of sampling investigation,this article made a questionnaire survey of 482 students in Henan Polytechnic University to investigate the current situation and demand of ESP teaching in general tertiary colleges.The statistic analysis showed that there are few ESP courses in most majors;the current ESP courses didn＇t fully meet students＇ demands;what＇s more,while designing ESP teaching curriculum,general tertiary colleges should take students＇ English demands into full consideration and strengthen the construction of teaching materials and faculty.
