This paper elaborates the common bases of the historical view and the historical experience on which the two theses of Deng Xiaoping's“three favorables”and Jiang Zemin's“three representatives”are drawn,and expounds the internal consistence in content between them.The process from“three favorables” to “three representatives” manifests the consistent relationship of inheritancc and development between the leading groups of two generations.Meanwhile,it also mirrors the historical sweep of the successful development of the socialism with Chinese characteristics and the CPC's self-building in the latest 20 years of this century.
