构建社会主义和谐社会,是建设富强民主文明和谐社会的内在要求,是全国各族人民的共同愿望。和谐文化是和谐社会的重要特征,因此,继承和发扬我国优秀传统文化是建设和谐社会的必然。民族传统体育文化与各民族生活和精神情感紧密相关,具有着丰富的民族情感内涵,继承和发展民族传统体育对维护民族地区稳定,促进民族地区经济发展和社会进步,构建民族地区和谐社会有着重要的意义和作用。

Building a harmonious society is the common aspiration of the people of all ethnic groups. Harmonious culture is an important feature of a harmonious society. Hence, to inherit and carry forward the excellent traditional culture is the necessity of the construction of a harmonious society. The traditional sports culture is closely related with the various ethnic groups living and spiritual emotion and has a rich ethnic emotional connotation. Therefore, inheriting and developing traditional national sports has special meaning and function to safeguard regional stability, promote national economic development and social progress.
