Autistic Children:to Treat or to Educate?

帮助自闭儿童的成长的方法主要有治疗模式和教育模式两种。治疗模式主要包括应用行为分析、感觉统合训练和游戏治疗、精神统合疗法。教育模式采用了不同于治疗模式的道路,它更重视对自闭儿童的教育而不是治疗。影响较大的教育模式是结构化教育。自闭儿童需要的既不是治疗也不是教育,而是敬畏。

To help autistic children grow up there are two approaches the therapy approach and the educational approach. The former includes the applied behavior analysis （ABA）, an integrative sensory training, a game-playing therapy and an integrative spiritual therapy. Unlike the therapy approach which aims to treat autistic children, the educational approach attaches more importance to education, with the Structured Teaching being a major approach. However, what the autistic children lack most is neither treatment nor education, but a sense of awe.
