摘要
小说《帕克的后背》主要写了帕克慢慢走向上帝的过程。他从开始时讨厌上帝、拒绝接受上帝,发展到慢慢意识到上帝的存在,最后皈依上帝。虽然帕克开始时在行为上有些亵渎上帝的意思,但在妻子萨拉的影响下,帕克最终成为一名虔诚的基督徒。这一过程也在他所刻纹身上得到了体现。帕克的后背其实是他灵魂的外在表现,最初他拒绝在后背上刻任何东西,后来主动将上帝纹在背上,说明了他已成为虔诚的基督徒。基督教在美国文化中是不可或缺的,已经皈依上帝的帕克必定会更好地融入美国社会。
The story mainly tells us Parker＇ s conversion to God. At first, he refuses to accept God; however, the consciousness of God begins to grow in his mind as time goes on. Eventually, he gets salvation. As a young man he is a little obscene initially, with the guidance of Sarah, he turns into a pious Christian. Tattoos on his body show the change of his spirit. Parker＇ s decision to tattoo his back with God reveals his conversion to God. After the conversion, Parker will better integrate himself into the society, especially in America civilization can not work without Christianity.
