New Energy-Efficiency Test Method Research on Servers(Ⅰ)

服务器指的是管理资源并为用户提供服务的计算机,相对于普通PC来说,服务器在稳定性、安全性、性能等方面都要求更高,因此CPU、芯片组、内存、磁盘系统、网络等硬件和普通PC有所不同。服务器的应用范围涉及政府、教育、医疗、企业等部门,从个人PC到工作站,再到大型超级计算机,是互联网产业不可缺少的一个部分,服务器发挥着重要作用。其在数据中心及云存储中的运用尤为重要。因此,在"绿色"、"低碳"成为ICT产业发展主要趋势的今天,如何评价服务器的节能指标,以及如何提高服务器的能源利用率,成为人们关注的重点。

Server refers to one special computer providing users with the management of resources and services.Opposed to an ordinary PC,server demands much higher stability,security,performance and etc., hence the hardware including CPU,chipset, memory,disk system,and network set is different from PC.The applications of servers range from departments of government,education,medicine,to enterprise,from one PC to one workstation,and then to one large supercomputer.Server itself plays an extremely important role as one indispensable part of current Internet industry.Now,it is widely used to serve in data center and cloud storage.Therefore,with the ＂Green＂,＂Low Carbon＂ becoming the main trend of development of tCT industry nowadays,how to evaluate server＇s energy-saving target and how to improve energy-efficiency of server has become the focus of attention. The paper researches on one new method of server＇s energy-efficiency test to accomplish the two questions above.
