摘要
在毫无关系的各种语言中存在着几条特殊的语法化路径,它们最终形成语法功能相同的语法结构。语法化的同时通常也发生主观化。语法化程度和主观化程度呈正相关。文章重点考察汉语的"要"和英语的"will"的语法化和主观化过程中各阶段的机制和动因,并论证两者的语法化路径和主观化路径存在的诸多相似之处。
Several highly constrained and specifiable grammaticalization paths exist in unrelated languages. They lead to the development of new grammatical constructions. As often as not subjectivisation occurs sim- ultaneously along with grammaticalization. And the degree of grammaticalization is proportional to that of subjeetivisation. The main purpose of this thesis is to investigate the mechanisms and motivations of gram- maticalization and subjectivisation of the Chinese ＂要＂ and English ＂will＂, and prove that both verbs have undergone the similar grammaticalization and suhjectivisation path.
