天然气作为清洁能源．在交通运输领域替代石油，对降耗节能和提升经济效应有重要的战略意义。世界天然气汽车保有量正快速增长。截至2010年，全球天然气汽车保有量占比仅为0．99％，排名第一的巴基斯坦为61．14％，中国天然气汽车占比仅为0．32％，美国也仅为0．04％。
On Oct. 31, 2012, the National Development and Reform Commission had publicized the'Policy on Utilizing Natural Gases', and from Dec. 1, 2012, it has been implemented. The'Policy on Utilizing Natural Gases'has classified Chinese consumers of natural gases into grades of priority, permit, limited and prohibited, and among which the natural gas vehicles caught much attention are listed into priority grade, and it is the only consumer of natural gases with priority grade besides municipality and living of urban residents among urban consumers of natural gases. The utilizing grades of natural gases are established by comprehensively considering factors in many areas, such as social benefit, environment benefit, economic benefit and utilizing characteristics, and etc. Without doubt, for the rapid development of technology in recent years, gradual growing up of the markets, but repeatedly limited sources of gases, favorable benefits are brought to the markets of natural gas vehicles.
