With the development of social economy,abbreviation has become an important component of the daily communication in Chinese,and further enhances the trend.The author analyzes Chinese noun abbreviation formation mechanisms and then elaborates the following cognitive law,from a cognitive linguistic perspective on Chinese abbreviations and their causes,conditions,scope and mechanism.Summary of universal cognitive linguistic traits can enlarge the Chinese abbreviation cognitive law applicable scope,to provided beneficial inspiration for the interpretation of other language abbreviations.
