Objective To investigate the expression of CatSperl mRNA and its significance in spermatozoa or healthy males living in high altitude about 6 months. Methods The semen specimens of 27 healthy male living in Plain were collected, and the semen specimens were accordingly collected after they move to high altitude area and lived there about 6 months. The expression of CatSperl mRNA was detected by SYBR Green RT-PCR. Results Male sperm quality and the expression of CatSperl mRNA were all declined under living in high altitude area (P〈0.05); The expression of CatSperl mRNA was positively correlated with sperm motility (P〈0.05). Conclusion The expression level of CatSperl mRNA might positively correlate with sperm motility.
