The Picture of Dorian Gray is analyzed from the ethical perspective in order to trace out the ethical outlook of Wilde, that is, the systematic combination of aesthetic ethics and humanistic ethics. In terms of the ethical outlook, the death of Dorian Gray can be explained from the angle of ethics, and the significance of his death can be further explored. Thus, it is concluded that Wilde, the notorious dandy, in fact, holds a strong moral position. His work not only agrees with the characteristic of the 19th century literature: to care about and reflect morality, but also has a touch of modernity
