摘要
商务英语函电是以双方经济利益为基础的,最适合我们从"惠"和"损"的角度来谈(消极)礼貌(策略)的语言形式及其礼貌程度。语言形式的礼貌程度其实是模糊的,有些是二外习得者难以把握的,甚至母语者也难以言说,但有些是可以区分的。本文分析了祈使句、情态动词及其过去式,态度动词及其过去式,条件句及其虚拟式等语言形式或句型的礼貌程度的等级差异。商务活动或函电中,并非越礼貌越好,要视场合而定,太过礼貌会适得其反。
Business English correspondence is based on the economic interests of both sides, which is best suited to be used to discuss polite language form and the degree of politeness from "benefit" and "loss". The degree of politeness of language form is fuzzy, some of them are difficulty for the learner, even for the native English speaker, and some can be distinguished. This paper analyzes the hierarchical differences of the imperative sentence, modal verbs and their past tense, attitude verbs and their past, conditional sentences and their subjunctive mood or the degree of politeness of sentence. In business activity or correspondence, it is not good as polite as possible. We should depend on the situation, too polite is backfire.
