五四时期陈独秀对工人政党的认识是其无产阶级政党观确立的思想前奏,在马克思主义广泛传播的背景下,陈独秀对于民主共和的认识有了新见解,开始从工农群体的视角看待政党。随着他对社会主义认识的加深,越发认识到"有产阶级政党"的弊端,开始赞扬工人政党的作用与使命,认为只有共产党才可以进行政治改革,改造社会,从根本上解决中国的问题。

CHEN Du-xiu＇s understanding of the workers party is prelude to the proletarian party concept established during the May Fourth period. In the context of the wide-ranging spread of Marxismh, CHEN Du-xiu have new views for the understanding of the democracy and republic, and comprehend political parties from perspective of the worker-peasant groups , with the deepening of his cognition of socialism, he has recognized that ＂the drawbacks of the middle class political party＂,and began to praise the role and mission of the workers party. Finally he believe that only the Communist Party can conduct political reform,transform society,and have a fundamental solution to China＇s problems.
