Retarder could be able to make the vehicle reduce speed smoothly and stably, and avoid surface abrasion and overheat caused by frequent brake, but also increase capability of the brake, which would help extend the service-life of brake and tyre. Currently, retarder has been widely applied to domestic bus products, but rarely to truck products. The article provided 4 case studies of broke retarder and solution as well.
