On the Restrictive and Descriptive Features of Attributives

This essay analyzes both the restrictive and descriptive features of Chinese attributives,and proposes that First,the restrictive features should not be identified as classificatory criteria;Second,the descriptive features should not be identified as the interpretation of connotation;Third,restrictive attributives will change the denotation of the head word,but descriptive attributives will not;Fourth,we should distinguish semantic perspective and pragmatic perspective when we research the descriptive and restrictive features of attributives.
