孔子并不回避死亡问题,他对死的看法集中在"未知生,焉知死""死生有命""杀身成仁""慎终追远""敬鬼神而远之"几个方面。他的死亡观具有重生慎死、理性、乐观等特点。

Confucius did not evade the question of death. In his opinion, the knowledge of life should precede that of death, and death as well as life is a matter of destiny. A man should attend to the funeral rites of his parents and offer sacrifices to them at the time of their death, and one with high aspirations should die for a good cause. As for spiritual beings, according to Confucius, we should respect them but keep them at a distance.
