Vocational Education: The Engine of Agricultural Modernization

农业现代化是国际间竞争的重要指标。人地矛盾,新农村建设问题,国际形势压力以及食品安全的压力使我国急需推进农业现代化进程。发达国家的先进经验以及职业教育的属性决定了职业教育能够在一定程度上推进我国农业现代化建设。培养农民的公民意识,发挥科学技术推广平台功能及加大科研力度,是职业教育推进农业现代化的重要途经。

Agricultural modernization is an important indicator in international competition. The contradiction between peas- ants and cultivated land, the problems about new rnral construction, the pressure of international competition and food safety all ask for promoting agricultural modernization. The advanced experience of the developed countries and the proper- ties of vocational education determine that vocational education can, to some extent, promote the agricultural moderniza- tion. Cultivating the citizen consciousness of peasants, playing the platform function of promoting the science and technolo- gy and increasing research efforts are important approaches of vocational education in promoting agricultural modernization.
