与中国军事公文相比，美国军事公文在语篇、句子、词汇等层面上表现出独特的语言特点，经济性是其主要特征。为了语言的经济性，语篇层面上的信息前倒置结构，句子层面上的主动语态、句式简洁且多变，词汇层面上的简短和简洁等这些特点鲜明突出，对我们理解美国军事管理和借鉴其军事公文的一些做法，都有一定的参考意义。

The specific linguistic features of American military documents which are presented on levels of text, sentence, lexicon, reveal that the documents take economy as the main principle. For the purpose of economy in words, the characteristics reflect themselves as the bottom-line up front on level of text, passive voice and varieties in grammatical structure on level of sentence, clarity and simplicity on level of lexicon. Based on the study of these linguistic features of American military documents, some specialties can be sensed and touched upon in American army control and command. Military documents work at every nod of American commanding system and the study on the framework of documenting is sure to go into structure and mind style of American command and control system.
