The marine sea water pump usually uses mechanical shaft seal between the shaft and pump body, and the mechanical shaft seal leakage is one of its common faults. In light of the working experience, the main reasons of the leakage of sea water pump were analyzed, and methods to overcome the faults and improve measures were proposed.
