摘要
社会认知涉及语言符号在社会情境中的主观阐释。为沟通符号和社会,本文提出一个语篇的社会认知研究框架,用于分析处于历史和社会文化情境中的语篇,并通过对比分析《中国日报》和《纽约时报》的两则同题报道的言据性策略证明了此框架的有效性和可行性。分析还表明:记者利用言据性的社会功能,强调某些信息和信息来源,引发受众主观的社会图式和集体记忆,引导受众得出记者期待的社会推论。意识形态影响着记者和新闻机构对新闻的选择、阐释和表达。
Social cognition is concerned with the subjective inter- pretation of linguistic signs in a social context. To bridge the gap between signs and society, this paper attempts to present a socio-cognitive discourse analytic framework for studying the cogni- tive aspects of discourse in a historical and socio-cultural context. The framework is used to contrast the evidential strategies of two news stories with an identical topic, published respective- ly by China Daily and The New York Times. The result of the a- nalysis proves the practicability and validity of the framework, and shows that the journalists employ socio-centric evidentials that emphasize certain information and sources to elicit the tar- get audience's subjective social schemata and collective memo- ry ,leading the latter to generate the social inferences the former has intended. Ideology influences journalists and news agencies in their choice, interpretation,and expression of the news.
