摘要
通识教育在美国高校已实施了近百年,在取得巨大成就的同时,也潜伏了不可忽视的危机。分析表明,这些问题与危机主要表现为:通识教育概念不清;与专业教育的整合不到位;水平质量下降;不被师生重视;被"虚化",以及缺少核心课程。造成危机的原因在于通识教育本身性质的广泛性、高等教育大众化、大学市场化以及金融危机和经济衰退等因素的综合作用。
Abstract:While the General Education in America's higher education has made great achievement, it is crisis-ridden. The analysis indicates that the general education is vague in concept, it does not integrate with major requirements,it lacks core curriculums,quality measures,and support from teachers and students. The crisis is caused by the integrative impact of the universality of general education,popularization of higher education, marketing in higher education, financial crisis and the economic recession.
