摘要
导致大学英语教学困境的根源,既有方法的问题也有方向的错误。大学英语教学的症结源于课程和教材本身的封闭性、教材的碎片化、教学过于注重语言技能训练,以及教师学科身份的缺失。大学英语教学改革的出路在于课程的开放,教材和教学以人文学科内容为依托,并激励大学英语教师建立语言知识以外的学科背景。只有这样,大学英语教学才会产生多维度、多学科的对话而富有生机。
The major problem of current College English Education is the result of the encapsulation of the curriculum, the form-focused orientation of the textbooks and classroom instruction as well as the absence of the disciplinary identity of the English teachers. The writer proposes the expansion of curriculum, meaning-focused and content-based instruction, and the cultivation of muhidiseiplinary identity of English teachers in the hope of creating an organic, dynamic and dialogical teaching and learning of College English.
