Experience of professor XU Jing-fan in treating gastroesophageal reflux disease

徐景藩教授擅长脾胃病的诊治,对胃食管反流病的治疗积累了丰富经验。他认为本病病因多端,症状不一,临床以气郁证、痰气交阻证、肝胃郁热证、气滞血瘀证分而施治,用药注重润燥、升降、宣通,强调汤药频服、浓煎糊剂、卧位服药及生活调摄,疗效显著。

Professor xu Jing-fan is a master of TCM, and excels in digestive-system diseases. He has accumulated a wealth of experience on gastroesophageal reflux disease. He holds the view that gastroesophageal reflux disease can be caused by many pathogenic factors with various symptoms. He treats the disease with syndrome differentiation, and divides it into four types according to clinical observation, which are qi-obstruction, phlegm-qi accumulation, stagnation of liver and stomach heat, and qi- blood stagnation. He pays attention to the properties of herbs, and is good at making use of some opposite or complementary pairs, such as moistening （run） and drying （zao）, ascending （sheng） and descending （jiang）, dispersing （xuan） and dredging （tong）. He also emphasize some special methods to take the medicine, for example, frequent sipping of one dose of herbal soup, boiling the soup into concentrated decoction, or taking the soup in decubitus, as well as recuperation in daily life. And the curative effects are remarkable.
