Whether used as an adverb of manner, scope, or mood,＂ bing （并） ＂can always trace its root to its original meaning. As an adverb of manner, its semantic feature of＂at the same time＂becomes prominent. As an adverb of scope, the same semantic feature evolves into something abstract： a sense of all inclusiveness. Finally, as a unique adverb of mood, its original meaning is further abstracted to mean accordance between two parties. As a result of this culmination of its semantic gene, ＂bing＂ has taken on a role as an adverb of mood that other inclusive adverbs cannot match.
